Several nights ago, in an unexpected way, a prayer of mine was answered. I was in the right place at the right time and met someone who ignited an ember inside me. As I have seen before, this answer to prayer came via a series of unexpected events- one gentle thread weaving into another- until my eyes were opened, my heart was touched, and my mind was illuminated. As I have seen before throughout the course of my life, I saw once again how we are taught line upon line, here a little and there a little. In this case, one desire, one prayer, one thought, one yearning, one hope, one dream over the course of several years immediately came together- like metal shards gravitating quickly, naturally, and easily to the pull of a powerful magnet. That is why I am here writing on my once abandoned blog.
A seventy-something old friend of mine used to say each Sunday when I saw her, "A lot of water ran under the bridge this week." That is what my sentiments are. There is hardly any way I could recap and give justice to the events that have "gone under the bridge" in the last nearly year and a half since I wrote here. It goes without saying that even when I was updating this blog more regularly there was a lot of "water under the bridge" that went un-documented. As it should be. Life is to be lived and experienced. Nonetheless, there are desires, impressions, and realizations that I have had (more times than just the other night) that have helped me understand that it is important that I am here and writing. So I am here, and I am grateful. There is something intoxicatingly sweet to me about sending my words, my voice, and (heaven knows) my feelings out into the void. It is replenishing to me, and as April helped me realize the other night, can be the beginning of something great.
I love this modest space of mine. I am so happy to be back. And just to clarify, I'm not here to keep a vigilant record of our goings on, or to post a million photos of my growing-like-weeds children. I am here to write, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the prospect.
